One of the all-time masters of Scottish links, 5-time British Open winner Tom Watson watched his hopes of a 6th win fade away as he searched for his ball in the high rough, several times, at Turnberry, site of this weekend's 138th Open Championship. Likely tired after four days of staying at or near the top of the leaderboard, Watson battled to the end in a four-hole playoff with Stewart Cink.
An Alabama native, 36-year-old Cink has won five times on the PGA Tour and many top ten rankings.
After his win, Cink said, "This week Tom has blown everybody away, including me."
